An artist’s eye. The care that earns your trust.
I’m Saki, the founder and artist behind Painterly by Saki, a private lash studio in Midtown Manhattan.
Some of my most rewarding moments come from clients who thought they already knew what lash extensions could offer—until we worked together. Discovering a look that feels more flattering, more comfortable, and more like themselves can change their entire impression of lashes.
That experience is what I strive to create for you.
From Tokyo to Los Angeles to New York
My approach draws on nearly 20 years in the beauty industry, including more than 15 years specializing in lashes. My career has taken me through leading salons in Tokyo, work with celebrity clientele in Los Angeles, and salon leadership in New York. As an artist, educator, and cosmetologist licensed in both Japan and New York State, I bring technical knowledge and a practiced eye to every appointment.
Fashion and art shape my sense of proportion, texture, and balance. Your features, preferences, and everyday life give each design its direction.
The details that make it yours
I consider your whole face: your bone structure, eye shape, natural asymmetry, and how your lashes sit when your eyes are open. Each choice of curl, length, density, and placement has a purpose.
At every visit, I reassess your natural lashes individually, taking their strength, direction, and growth into account. Your design evolves with their condition, with natural lash health guiding what I apply.

Having worked with thousands of clients, I’m proudest of the relationships that continue long after a first appointment. Many clients have trusted me with their lashes for five to ten years.
